Informing and influencing tech policy .
Ideate Tech Policy Africa is an organization that aims to inform and influence tech policy processes, engage in multidisciplinary research, litigate on tech law and advise on a diverse range of tech policy issues in Africa. ITPA is focused on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and its intersection with human rights and society. Additional emphasis is placed on issues around human rights and elections in the digital age, data governance, data justice, and the digital economy.
We envision a coherent and collaborative tech policy array that will champion a safe, equitable, and inclusive digital environment for the African continent.
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance policy discourse, debates and address emerging issues at the intersection of law, tech, policy and society in Africa.
How we do It.
Our approach to realizing our mission is multidisciplinary. We host regular trainings, webinars, workshops, informal gatherings, and networking opportunities that provide a platform for knowledge sharing, exchange of ideas, and a showcase of various initiatives and projects that contribute to our mission of creating a safe, equitable, and inclusive digital environment for Africa and the global south.
Our events are open to stakeholders from diverse sectors and bring together experts from various fields, fostering cross-collaboration, and collective action and building a community to address and solve the cross-cutting issues that emerge from the intersection of technology, human rights, and the economy
